Craigendarroch Resort is located in Ballater, Royal Deeside, Scotland. Royal Deeside is within the Cairngorms National Park, the largest national park in the United Kingdom, which straddles the River Dee and Don in the heart of the Grampian Mountains. Royal Deeside also boasts numerous castles. Those open to the public are Braemar, Balmoral (Britain s Royal Family retreat), Crathes, and Drum. There are a host of others in the area that are visible but not open to the public. Sporting activities abound in the area such as golf (Braemar Golf Course is the highest 18 hole course in Britain), salmon fishing, gliding, hiking/climbing, and in the winter skiing at Glenshee Ski Centre, the largest ski center in Scotland.
