ABOUT THE RESORT
"Borgo di Vagli" is a beautifully
restored self contained Tuscan village dating back to the 14th Century,
idyllically set in unspoiled natural beauty amongst olives groves,
ancient oaks, chestnut and fruit trees, wildflowers and vines. The
village boasts breathtaking endless panoramic views of rich Tuscan
countryside. The village was left ruined for over 20 years; now
after an extensive Restoration and modernizing program, using only
traditional methods and materials to Restore and maintain the original
architecture and overall appearance of the village, "Borgo
di Vagli" has gained "Gold Crown" status, RCI's highest
attainable award and numerous World-wide credits and acknowledgements.
Only seventeen unique individually furnished properties form the
village. A Trattoria is housed at the base of the original 14th
Century guard tower and offers a cozy and relaxed ambiance within
which to enjoy an "operativo", share a bottle of wine
or choose from the freshly prepared seasonal and rustic "casalingo"
style traditional Tuscan menu.
LOCATION
"Borgo di Vagli" is located in
the commune of Cortona, the village is only 20 minutes drive from
the City. Cortona's popularity has increased in recent years due
to Frances Mayes, best-selling books "Under the Tuscan Sun",
"Bella Tuscany" and more recently "In Tuscany".
Cortona, although extremely popular, is one of Tuscany's best-preserved
medieval Cities; the city dates back to the early Etruscan age.
